- Log into Dayforce as a System Administrator
- Navigate to System Admin → Security → Users and create a dedicated API service user
- Assign the user the Web Services role and appropriate HR data access
- Your Client Namespace is the unique identifier for your Dayforce environment (visible in your Dayforce URL, e.g.,
MyCompany) - The API URL is the base URL of your Dayforce services endpoint (e.g.,
https://ustest241-services.dayforcehcm.com) - The API uses Basic Authentication — provide the service user's username and password
- Ensure your Dayforce environment has the REST API feature enabled by Ceridian support
- Test connection to verify the credentials are valid
