  1. Log into Dayforce as a System Administrator
  2. Navigate to System Admin → Security → Users and create a dedicated API service user
  3. Assign the user the Web Services role and appropriate HR data access
  4. Your Client Namespace is the unique identifier for your Dayforce environment (visible in your Dayforce URL, e.g., MyCompany)
  5. The API URL is the base URL of your Dayforce services endpoint (e.g., https://ustest241-services.dayforcehcm.com)
  6. The API uses Basic Authentication — provide the service user's username and password
  7. Ensure your Dayforce environment has the REST API feature enabled by Ceridian support
  8. Test connection to verify the credentials are valid
